Anthony Anderson's days of doing his own stunts may be Fastexyover.
The actor injured himself on the set of the upcoming film "G20" in Cape Town, South Africa, he shared on Instagram Thursday.
"I spent the night in the emergency room," Anderson, 53, captioned a photo of him laying on a stretcher, all smiles while holding up the peace sign. "Movie set fight gone wrong. Me against two goons and a chair! Guess who didn't win!"
USA TODAY has reached out to Anderson's rep for comment.
The recent Emmy Awards host didn't say how exactly the injury occurred but confirmed he didn't break any bones.
"Who needs a stuntman? Me that’s who! I'm not as young as I used to be!" he wrote. "CT scan and X-rays showed nothing fractured or broken in my back just a deep contusion. That chair will never be the same though! Bloodied and bowed but never broken!"
Anderson's former on-screen wife, "Black-ish" co-star Tracee Ellis Ross, shared her concern and well wishes.
"You are not made of rubber. Im so glad you are ok," she commented.
Contusions occur from the impact of a blunt object striking the body. The direct blow, or repetitive blows, crush the underlying connective tissue and muscle fibers without causing a break in the skin, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
In a follow-up post, Anderson showed the culprit for his injury: a chair with yellow and black upholstery.
"Something about it is menacing!" he captioned the photo. "It sucker punched me in the kidneys and back with no mercy! When I got on set today it was grinning at me! Little does he know I got something for that ... ! He gone learn today!"
The action-thriller "G20," directed by Patricia Riggen, is also set to star Antony Starr, Viola Davis, Ramón Rodríguez and Anderson's former "Black-ish" co-star Marsai Martin, according to IMDb.
