Matt Rife Shares He's "Working on Getting Better" After Medical Emergency

Matt Rife is on the mend.
One week after the comedian postponed several sold out shows from his ProbleMATTic World Tour due to an medical emergency, he shared an update on his health.
"First I wanted to say thank you so much for all the well wishes, I'm working on getting better and can't wait to come back shortly and give you the best possible shows that you deserve," Matt wrote on Instagram June 5. "Having to reschedule shows broke my f--kin heart and I hate it, but I deeply appreciate your understanding and wanted to update you on those."
As part of the rescheduling, the 28-year-old announced that his four Chicago dates had been moved to December 26, 27, 29 and 30. Meanwhile, his Nashville shows will take place in August after moving to a new venue due to scheduling conflicts.
Matt—who was supposed to perform at the Indiana University Auditorium May 29 after postponing the show back in February—canceled the show that day of the event and apologized for the decision.
"I'm so f--king sorry," he explained on his Instagram Stories at the time, "but due to a last minute medical emergency I have to reschedule our shows tonight (again). I've been doing 40+ shows a month for a year and a half and never had to do something like this. I'm so so sorry. I hope you understand and I love you so much."
Since going viral in 2023 through his crowd work clips on TikTok, Matt's career has skyrocketed with his controversial Netflix special Natural Selection and sold-out world tour. And he couldn't help but speculate how he rose to fame so quickly.
"Maybe I just am a voice for a younger generation," Matt told E! News last June. "There's not a lot of people my age that have been doing it as long or have the experience that I have. So maybe that's finally showing through a little bit."
Other explanations? "It could be my face," he joked, "it could be the way we do captions on videos, who knows? I'm just happy people like it."
